Well, I'm a happy little modemmer, having just purchased a USR Courier :-)

A question. Is there a newer, (and better!), SDL than the one in the modem now??

OK

A couple of general comments.

The manual is *excellent*, and makes the manual that came with my Maestro
144M seem useless in comparison.

Does this thing have a massive power amp in it to drive the speaker? My
God, it's loud!

It was too easy to set up. The manual even suggested adding &K3 to turn
off MNP5, and explained why. I find an init string of AT &F1 &K3
far too boring for my liking :-)

The plug pack that supplies power to the modem emits quite a bit of
electrical noise. I had move it so that it doesn't interfere with my
monitor.

Apart from I6 and I11, what other diagnostic commands exist?

It came with Quicklink II, which doesn't support Class 2.0, only Class 2.
Yes, you can just use Class 1, but this strikes me as a rather silly thing
to do.

And the last thing, can someone explain to me what the letters F, R and Z
stand for, so I can explain it to my friends :-)

Regards,
Frank
