Alan,
I notice on the systems you are having problems connecting with you
are getting a 'carrier 300' reported by the software. This is obviously
incorrect, and the only times I have seen software report that with a
high speed connection is when the modem returned a carrier speed that
the software was not configured to recognize, causing it to default
down to 300. You might try calling that system from terminal mode after
issuing an AT&FS95=60 to the modem and see what the modem reports as a
carrier speed. Do you know what kind of modem is on the host system you
are calling into?
