HI Vicki,
RH> Never heard of Priced Right. It's probably about like the others. Do
 VO> I'm just a little leary. I don't usually use the 'off-brands'
VO> becuase I've had problems with breakage.
Play around with it; if it's not satisfactory, then all you've spent is
money for one cone. I found I could not use the cheap thread in my
Singer sewing machines; the Pfaff doesn't seem to mind them.
RH> you have a Wal-Mart or other big store that has a fabric department?
VO> Shoot..I was there last night and forgot completely about it. :(
Well, if it's close enough, think of it next time you go. It's the
store in town that gets most of our business so we go at least once a
week.
RH> Sounds like a sure thing. I've also seen, in cataloges, an adapter
RH> thing you just hook onto the spool holder of your machine & the cone
VO> That meakes me leary as well. That's why I was alittle leary of
VO> the cup hook thing as well.
The Dritz adapter is the kind I have. I've never had a feed problem
with it.
VO> terrible problems with the Kenmore's tension and thee bobbin/underside
VO> jamming up, and had just gotten a bonus at work, so my husband told me
VO> to go get a new machine!
RH> space constraints to deal with. I know my old Singer Futura 2 made
RH> better buttonholes (didn't have to fuss as much) than the Pfaff.
VO> Now some miracle happened and the Kenmore works wonderful again!
VO> I much prefer the Kenmore for more heavy duty projects, (and
 VO> buttonholes)
Go figure. At least now you have a backup. I'd be so frustrated
without a working sewing machine--I'd have to borrow one to keep me
happy.
RH> Have you worked with the nylon thread before? Sometimes it can be a
RH> bit of a problem. I have used it for both the top and bottom but
RH> prefer to use it only in one or the other.
 VO> No I haven't. It's a thought though. Thanks!
I've heard that you can melt it if your iron is too hot so if you do use
it, be careful. It's not my favorite thread but sometimes it's the only
thing that will do, as in when I sewed around a sweatshirt applique that
changed color every couple of inches. I used the nylon on top and
matched my bobbin to the shirt. Then I went over the edge with paint.
Catch you later,
Ruth
