Sometimes referred to as 'self documenting code'.

When modifying and adding code to the ATP OLR I use it became
quite obvious that several programmers had worked on the C
source code. Each 'style' was quite recognizeable none being
better than the others but certainly different than the others.

It was interesting (to me) to find the styles so visible yet
generally well written in all of the variations.
