-=> Now, please try to remember that I agreed that there is a
-=> lot of that in the
-=> wares scene. But the ones who really know what they're doing
-=> (individuals you
-=> obviously have never had contact with) are the ones with the
-=> resources to get
-=> the software on or near its release date, edit/crack the
-=> code to break any
-=> copyright protection, etc. Its probably quite a bit of work
-=> and you could
-=> probably make a living from it.
and would obviously never want to come in contact with, i suppose you think
knowing the right people and hounding software manufacturers is considerd a
skill? That is a very nice thing to be able to understand asm and know how to
hexedit things and the sort, but so long as you are USING the stuff, you are
doing something illegal, anyway does it matter if it is illegal or if it is
right or wrong?
-=> It is inconceivable that you've ever had experience with
-=> "phreaking" that
-=> wasn't a) illegal or b) costing a company money. As
-=> Super-Moral-Phreak, did you
-=> ever call an 800# to a private company? Even just to
-=> "explore" the system, as
-=> you say, you didn't pay for it. Ever use a VMB? Really,
-=> anytime you would poke
-=> around a system and *ever* accessed an account that wasn't
-=> yours, or played
-=> with functions that weren't for the general public, you
-=> violated your own
-=> stupid moral code. That's kind of odd ... I suppose your
-=> views on piracy are
-=> flexible in some way?
i dont try to get free VMB's, i just "know the right people" as you say, i
dont really have a need for a VMB, but i could just ask someone i know who
WORKS for a company to lend me one...and i dont know what code you are
talking about, however i feel ripping someone off and looking through a
computer system are two different things, now if you are looking through an
ISP's computer and are using its server to use it as YOU'RE isp i think that
is wrong, but if you are just looking at things and dont touch them, that is
not a crime in my mind. - I dont make free phone calls, i am paying for this
right now, my "phreaking" is basically experimenting with different tones and
playing around with numbers (not divertors)
