Hi Wendy,
RH> caught in the notch. Also helps prevent the spool from flying off.
WB> I can just picture you with spools of thread flying all over
WB> the room, ducking as you sewed!
Well, today I had spools rolling all over the floor; I dropped my thread
box. It wasn't too bad; last year I got a couple of tackle box inserts
and transferred most of my spools to them. I only keep basic colors or
ones that I'm currently using in the main box, maybe about 20 at most.
RH> pretty good at learning these little tricks. Guess I'm getting to be a
RH> sergin' general.(G)
WB> Have you sent your application to Washington, D.C. yet, just
WB> in case they lose another one?
Nope, one of us working for the government is enough. Besides, I've got
those wedding dresses to do, no time for fun jobs.
RH> got was buttonhole twist. Now, first, who would use that on cotton,
RH> and second, who uses dark green enough for 2 spools worth? DUH!
WB> Sounds like something I would do, so don't feel lonely on your
WB> sewing chair!
I think we all pull boners like that every so often. Oh well, I'll find
some use for it, some day.
RH> at every mealtime. We have a fair sized master bedroom here but by the
RH> time I get my sewing stuff in, the room shrinks.
WB> That happens every time, doesn't it? And since Tom and I are
WB> such terrible pack rats and save things we will never use, we
WB> are the worst!
That's one advantage of the military moves; we can only be packrats to a
certain extent. Helps me keep a (bit of a) rein on my craft supplies.
RH> Yes, it's good you had the money to live off of while he was off work
WB> We took a bad loss on that though. It was Tom's IRA from his
WB> retirement account from when he was working before, and it's
WB> all gone now. For several months we lived on nothing except
WB> what the Lord provided, and He did very well for us. We are
WB> sure thankful to still have our home!
Yes, but had you not had the money, think of where you would be. The
Lord will provide; He must have plans for Tom to build up a better
retirement fund.
RH> Well, I've got to get going on the sewing. Rachel is getting
RH> impatient with my progress so far.
WB> I'm sure she'll feel better as you get more done, and you are
WB> working on it enough that it will not take too long. She's
WB> just being like every bride I've ever known of...
WB> This is a great way for her to learn the patience she'll need
WB> when she's married! Maybe you better not tell *her*
WB> that at this point, though. No sense discouraging her right off
WB> the bat! 8-)
I did get most of one dress finished the other day and she's happier.
She has been better about patience than her sister; Deborah has been a
go getter from the start and doesn't like to wait for things.
Catch you later,
Ruth
