My experiences with Sturmey Archer Gears are quite good. When I was
stationed in England During the Berlin Airlift I bought a Four Speed
Light Weight Phillips Bike with a 4 speed Sturmey Archer Gear built
into the rear hub. It had Caliper type brakes on both wheels. I never
had any problems with that little jewel and I rode it all over Lancashire,
North Wales, Scotland, Ireland and London. I liked it. Wish I still
had that sucker.
