I added Fidonet in the 90s as well once there was full support (mail tossing) written by one of the old WWIV sysops (Craig Dooley). I re-joined Fido just a few weeks ago. Before Christmas, I decided to put time back into the system to get everything running in a new fashion. VMware... One of my original growing issues was my old P-133 system running OS/2 that ran all the nodes for the BBS. A combination of imaging the BBS drives and creating Virtual Machines with their data, I can now in effect run 16-bit apps under a 64-bit OS. No more hardware restrictions for my BBS configuration, and I don't need an additional server/workstation for the BBS. - Mark --- WWIVToss v.1.40 Registered* Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 @PATH: 261/1304 266/512 140/1 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
