On 09/12/2002, Ross Cassell was caught whispering to Robert Couture about
Security Breach.

A bit.  Mentioning Roy in your apology seemed somehow wrong.  I think the
apology did not need to mention him at all, but only an apology for the breach
itself.

Again, it seemed that mentioning Roy was only to draw some of the attention
away from your configuration mistake.  (Oversight, error, whatever you will.)

Just how I saw it.  Nothing to worry about ... like you said elsewhere after
three days of no power, why bother :)  You had enough to deal with.
