SC>Hi all,
SC> I am sad to report that my second letter to my birthfather
SC>(?) was refused. I may now never meet him and that saddens me. Part
SC>of me says give up but another part (a bigger part) still wants to meet
him.
SC>just don't know what else to do. I just wish the letter
SC>would have been accepted
SC>since I enclosed a copy of the picture of him and my mom.
SC>At this point, I don't
SC>even know who refused it or why. The first letter I sent
SC>was sent regular mail,
SC>so from the refusal I'm assuming that someone did get and
SC>read the first letter.
SC>It could have even been another family member.
SC> I have some serious thinking to do now. Does anyone have any
SC>ideas for me.
SC> Sitting here with tears in my eyes. :-(
Sharon, he may be very fearful of facing his past. He may be going
through all sorts of emotions ..... Take it easy and be patient.
Meanwhile, find out if you can if he is a member of a local church.
Maybe there is a Pastor or someone there who can approach him
privately and with compassion ask for at least on meeting, even
moderated, so that you both can put the past to rest.
Don't give up ..... look at other options and take your time. As a
birth parent and an adoptee I can feel from both angles and I understand
where you come from and where he comes from ..... give it time ....
