Yep.  Managed to make some today but only regarding terminal usage.  I
decided to take care of my needs first and then worry about httpd.  This
way all the "meat and potatoes" issues, such as dupechecking,
will be taken care of and can be recycled to the XML-RPC BBS thingy.

Certainly looks that way so far.  Other then some of the txt2pkt.pl script
I haven't found that much Perl stuff for this particular project.  The
POSIX module is definetly a handy-dandy module for the cause and ought to
take care of incompatibilities regarding any other OS client connecting to
the BBS.  If done "right" they won't even have to get the time
"right" since I don't plan that as input to the server.  Good
stuff!
