| subject: | USR Sportster Misinterprets Ring? |
Hello. I recently purchased a new USR Sportster 33.6 Internal Fax/modem, and am ¨having trouble connecting to _some_ BBSs. What happens, about 75% of the time, ¨is the modem incorrectly interprets the ring sound for a busy signal. At least ¨that's what it looks like to me. I hear the phone ringing through the modem's ¨speaker, but my Comms package (ProComm 2.1) reports "BUSY". I never ¨experienced any trouble of this kind with my previous modem (Supra 14.4). Any ideas on what is going on, and if this is possible to fix?
