According to the Post Earle did not ask for the arrest warrant. he also did
not oppose the courts request.

From what I've read by having an arrest warrant Delay was able to turn
himself  in a different county with less press coverage. No High Profile
'Prep Walk'. Had Earle really wanted the high profile he could have opposed
the warrant and had the booking done Friday when Delay is scheduled to
appear in Travis County.
