G'Day folks,

Whist polishing my 300mm f6 plate mirror on a concrete tool topped with
burgundy pitch, the mirror developed some long thin scratches. These have
not polished out and I have decided to go back to 600 grit to remove the
scratches. I want to reuse the pitch and pour another lap but I am
concerned that some dust off the conrete tool may also become recycled. I
vaguely remember hearing out straining pitch through stocking to remove
such particles. Any clues about how to do this and whether it is even the
right method?

Thank you in advance
Vero Joseph
