       thanks for the reply, but yes "STACKS=9.256" is already set in my
config.sys file.  Any other suggestions?  The people at Askey Australia
(Dynalink Modem) said "it sounds like you have a problem with your computer,
it's a bit hard to help with this problem over the phone, so if you want,
send the modem back for a refund"!  They quoted how many modems they sell
per month and how few problems like mine that they get.  End of 1800 over
the phone assitance!  I don't want to get rid of the modem, i just want to
get it working properly.

P.S. I have been using MSWORKS for two years and never experienced any
problems apart from now.
