I first tried a Diamond 5/8 x 2 (6db?) colinear. After almost three
months waiting for this thing, I tuned and mounted this thing at the
top of the tower (about 55' at the base). Since this thing is 21'
long, I was expecting a improvement over the 1/2 wave dipole I'm
currently using. As it turned out, my coverage was so poor that I
returned to the dipole.
I have heard from others that this antenna from Diamond is not all
that good (after the fact). It tunes just fine, but seems to radiate
like a dummy load using cheap coax.
