| Glad you made headway.  It strikes me as a protocol mismatch, perhaps
| with the OS/2 protocol being a version that the Windows machine no
| longer recognizes.  Only a guess, though...

Actually, it was a linux/samba machine that I was attempting to connect the
OS/2 box with.  It does not seem to have trouble connecting to Win9x or
WinXP systems.
