OS/2 is having issues similar to Win9x, except that where Win9x could
access the "public" shares (but not the password-protected ones), OS/2
cannot even list the shares.

NET VIEW

produces a list of the machines on the network with shares, and it includes
the samba server box. However:

NET VIEW \\samba_machine

Produces a 58 error. I can ping the samba server with both its name and
its IP address.

I can do the following and get good results:
NET VIEW \\XP_box
NET VIEW \\Win9x_box
