uploads... but i need to see about updating the old DOS virus scanner
engines (if i'm still using them that is)...

i think there is one or two still out there... IIRC, one can still hunt
down the DOS version of fprot...

this would depend on one's environment, really... your section above seems
to be "limited" to the winwhatever world and the possibility of
using the command line side of the graphical scanner that may be
installed... remember that in the world of active scanners that run all the
time, one cannot use more than one scanner without jumping thru some pretty
ugly hoops :?
