What specific problems did you encounter with the M11F? I never experienced
any problems with it, and despite my conversion to a Courier, I still
consider the M11F to be a good modem. Very few of my callers had trouble
with it.
Your connects and transfer rates to ythe M11F have always been flaky, but
you have changed both modems and settings so often that it was difficult to
narrow the problem down. Which modem are you using now?
Interestingly, one regular caller of mine always connected at 2400 bps to
the M11F. Since installing the Courier, she has connected at 21600, 28800
and 26400 on different occasions. I asked her whether or not she had
changed anything in the interim. No. She was surprised that she achieved
high speed connects when she's had nothing but 2400 connects to my system
up until I switched modems.
However, I am at a loss to understand why another regular caller loses
carrier as soon as the first message waiting for him is displayed. He has
been reading the same message since Saturday!
