Again on this theme. In the G-trek game Admiral Jerry Ryan LaSaille (ret)
maintains an old Constitution class ship at the El Nanth spacedock. The
USS Kongo NCC-1710. He bought his old ship when she was demiled in the
early 24th century.
LaSaille holds monthly "press gangs" One can sign up for a day
cruise as a member of the ships company wearing 23rd century uniforms on a
genuine 23rd century ship. A fun trip where Admirals can be yeoman and
technicians can be lieutenants. One does have to be qualified for the part
they play. If you are on the primary intermix board you are ON it, no
"play" about that part. The ship is real, the hands on nature is
real.
This is a popular pastime with local starfleet and there are always more
calls for posts than room.
