I don't drink as much beer as I used to. I have reserved that for summer
pretty much and tend to drink wine mostly. I do like IPA and Harpoon is
pretty good and inexpensive. As for the weather up here, I have been in the
trenches doing home nursing visits in the fair city of New Bedford
Massachusetts. Very interesting place. It is a minature Baltimore complete
with a port and a star shaped fort on the Southern tip at the end of Martin
Luther King Blvd. The city was notorious for being the whaling capitol of
the world and made billions in whale oil before petroleum became the staple.
You can still see it in the ornate banking and legal buildings in the
business sector of town. Also this was the port for Ahab in Moby Dick. But
the real character of the city is that it almost has an entire Portuguese
population, many of whom cannot speak English! But driving around New Bedford
now is like South Baltimore where people have their parking spots designated
by lawn chairs and you had better not park there or your tires will get
slashed.
