DC>> There's plenty of time for the kids to eventually take such DC>> things seriously. They need to experience many things in the DC>> meantime. SC>> When my son's team played a friend's son's team we used to cheer SC>> for both teams and ALL of the players. Other parents got upset SC>> with us and would make remarks to us. We didn't care. It was all SC>> about the kids for us. DC> It's gotten to the point were the parents boo a good play by the DC> opposing team's players. They heckle the umps and the coaches. And, DC> in one case at least, literally kill them. They did that some back when my ex coached and son played. My ex started coaching when my girls were much to young to play and my son wasn't even born yet. He went to his first Pony League game when he was a few weeks old to watch his dad coach. My ex quit coaching before my son got to the Pony League though, which was good because I saw too much favoritism when dad coached son's team. There should be a rule that can't happen. DC> Yes, it's great to win. But, for every winner there has to be a DC> loser. And no one can win them all forever. Exactly and that is what has to be taught. Then again you have some people who just can't accept losing no matter what they are taught. sigh Sharon ---* Origin: Shar's Wildlife (1:3613/1275.7) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 3613/1275 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
