    Can I pick your brains? I just changed the old desktop for a mini-tower
with XP. As it( XP) came out of the packet FrontDoor ran after a fashion,
but after downloading all the updates, including ActiveX 9, there was
suddenly no way to access or "open" the comms port. This meant
that nothing would run.

    This is the very elderly decrepit MSDOS 6.2 and
Win 3.1 machine that has been in storage for a couple of years, as an
explanation of how I can use the mailer at all now.

    I also found MSC version 7.00 on it and it appears to
work. :-)

    The question is - has anybody (including you in particular) managed to
get a FidoNet mailer working on the latest version of XP?
