Calm down, Charles... I intended no such inference. I was merely passing on a
bit of personal experience for whatever it might be worth. Since I'm
participating here from the Internet side of the gateway, I have no interest,
vested or otherwise, in how those on the Fidonet side of things hook up. AAMOF,
without this thread, I have precisely zero insight into how anyone on the Fido
side connects since the Fido Zone:Net/Node[.Point] of the originators is
stripped before I ever see anything.

This is a hobby and we're here to enjoy ourselves, so do whatever you enjoy.
When I was in the Fido world, I found being a point to increase my enjoyment.
As always, YMMV...
