In a message dated 07-11-96, Tom Przeor said to Michael Raiteri:
TP>Can't say much about that as I don't use fax a lot but my Dynalink
TP>connects to previously unreachable (by other faxmodems and my fax
TP>machine) destination in Eastern Europe - I was pleasantly suprised.
I now have the fax part working perfectly with Faxworks Pro under OS/2
but still problems with Winfax Pro under OS/2. What init string do you
use for the fax.
MR> The other thing is that the Dynalink modem is inconsistent with its
MR> connects with an unacceptably high negotiation failure rate.
TP>I always get 28.8 with v34 and 33.6 with v34+ modems around town.
Oh I only wish. I think it must be the quality of the lines around where
I live as I have only had two 33.6 connects and a handful of 28.8 The
majority seem to be 26400.
BTW would you mind sharing your modem settings with me. It might be of great
assistance.
MR> Has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution. I have a
MR> pretty standard setup AT&F1&K0L1 - hardware handshaking with no
MR> compression and sound low (still at ear screeching level though :( )
TP>True.
Pity it ca'nt be changed.
Cheers
Mike
