i was out for the same thing,
good,fast,cheap,
for my first scope,,i bought a BVC 14inch blank,,,relativly cheap,NOT
pre-ground saving myself 40.00,
aluminum truss tubes,,,(B)lows 8.00 each X 8,
,
i built everything else, focuser, miror support, Oh i did have it coated by
sirus optics,,,3 times,,grrrrrrr
,fast,, i got it made in 3 months total,
1/10 of a wave, and won an award with it,
,
but better yet "I" built it and I knew what I had into it,
TIME,,, lots of loving time, and the WOWs from my kids and wife and
neighbors was well worth the effort,
,
its the first scope on my web-page,,
,
It can be done,
3 months + 300.00 + 1/10 of a wave , and an award = fast, cheap and
good, just have to have the determination, to go with it,,
