Well I'm not a pro so I shouldnt be in here :)...but I can tell you one thing
about Bryston, I am impressed. 10 years ago I bought one for an amp at home.
when I got it home I noticed that one of the green led's was a teeny bit
brighter than the other. I called Bryston and they immediately put me on to a
tech guy in the factory. He told me it was probably just the difference in
he
range of specs the lights meet and said if I wanted to I could bring it in
nd
he'd look at it. Darn right I took it in (it was only a couple hours drive).
So I get there, he takes me out in the factory, gives me a tour etc etc ad
then tested the led's. he showed me how one was at the high end of the
allowable tolerance and one was at the low end, then asked if I wanted him to
replace one or both. he also said that if I didn't trust him or the amp or
he
test equipment, he could give it another run through the burn-in and I could
come back in a week and pick it up. I said "a week?!?!?" he said, yep, the
standard test is to load up to clipping so all the protection mechanisms come
on and stay on, and then they leave it like that for 100 hours!! I declined,

figured they knew what they were doing.
I was also impressed that I got a filled in by hand test sheet for this exact
amp that I bought (ie: thd at 200hz on the left channel was 0.0019% with the
test equipment residual being 0.0015%, along with some other stuff I dont
understand). Also, a few years back I got a letter from them saying that even
though the 5 year warranty I got when I bought it has run out, I will still
e
covered under their new 25 year warranty...wicked, not that I figure I'll
eed
it but it's just the idea that they believe in their equipment so much.
oh, and I only bought it because it was the only amp I listened to at the
ime
that sounded great playing any music at any volume without using any tone
controls whatsoever.
