With the diversity of the NA culture as it's presently known, you can find
examples of anything you choose to. I can point to the Northwest Coastal
peoples and the Southwest Puebloen peoples as well who were not
expansionistic.
I guess it all depends upon what point you're trying to make, as to who you
use for an example.
