I took one large jump over the years running WWIV. I don't remember what year it was, but I had a highly modded WWIV 4.12 and it took me forever to take the leap to 4.24a. I only did it because there were loads of new options that I was missing, plus everyone was writing mods for 4.24. It took me along time to build this highly customized 4.24a. I still have the compiler and source if I wanted to do stuff with it, but would have to run it under an XP VM - since it won't work on a 64-bit OS. I remember running a utililty on mine years ago that stripped all strings out of the source and made them external to save on dgroup. One thing I would like, is to make WWIVEDIT along with most of the door games more multi-tasker aware. They tend to max the CPU on my VM when running. - Mark --- WWIVToss v.1.40 Registered* Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 @PATH: 261/1304 266/512 140/1 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
