The statements "during the Clinton administration" were also
DURING PERIODS WHEN IRAQ HAD BLOCKED INSPECTIONS.

Bush's statements continued and intensified EVEN WHILE INSPECTORS WERE IN
IRAQ AND FINDING NOTHING... and while you and your cohorts here were
pouring contempt on the ineffectual Blix. "What a patsy -- we
*know* the WMDs are there."

Clinton is not "my hero" -- I said in 1998 that his Oval Office
hijinks and evasions about them were stupid and juvenile, although not
rising (sinking?) to anywhere near a level meriting impeachment.

Nor do the Democrats as a party have a lot to be proud of w/r/t Iraq; most
of them, like most of the country, stampeded in the wave of post-9/11
emotion. But I can still make a distinction between that and the behavior
of those in the White House who cultivated and promoted the stampede... and
continue to do so.
