Simultaneous Voice (over) and Data does reduce the line bit rate
to a max of 21k6 when in operation. Other systems, such a Radice's
VoiceView, stops data transfer whilst the voice packet is transmitted.
DSVD is only available to the same remote which must also have a
DigiTalk (tm) compatible modem and enabling software
Rockwell's DigiTalk is the recommended default speech compression
algorithm for DSVD (specification 1.2), as defined by an early adopter
Special Interest Group (SIG) which included Intel Corporation,
Creative Labs, Hayes Microcomputer, Rockwell and U.S. Robotics.
