Hi, Robert.
DH> Speaking of silly-looking costumes... do you remember in "West
DH> Coast Avengers", when Hank Pym's super-name was "Doctor Pym" and
DH> he wore an outfit very reminscent of the 4th Doctor Who?... Oh
DH> MAN, that was bad!...
RR> I kinda Liked the Doctor Pym ID... Haveing the ability to carry
RR> almost Anything you might need in your pockets... and I Do mean
RR> almost.. Was handy, and Different then any of his Other IDs over
RR> the years. It also allowed him to show that he was a Lot more
RR> then just "A Guy that Changes size".
Oh... I'm not disputing anything you've said. I thought the
power-changes they made to Henry Pym when they chose to bring him back
to the Avengers (after his disgrace and banishment from the team) were
good ones. I just thought that his early costume was an incredibly
dumb-looking one (the full-length coat, excessively long scarf &
hat...  all hallmarks of the Tom Baker-Doctor).  The one he later got;
the cover-alls with all the pockets was a much better-looking and
practical costume, IMO.
I've always liked Hank Pym... in all his alter-egos (Ant-Man I,
Giant Man I, Goliath I, Yellowjacket I & Dr. Pym)... and his
successors too (size-changing is an under-rated power, IMO). Despite
the fact I did like what he brought to the team as "Dr. Pym", I am
very glad Marvel chose to make him Giant-Man again. He may just be "A
Guy that Changes size", but it's a role he's always fullfilled so very
well, IMO. I'm really hoping he'll become a fixture in the Avengers
again.
Now that he's gone back to being Giant Man again, I wonder
what'll become of the Bill Foster (Giant Man II)? Since Goliath II
(of "Thunderbolt" fame) is currently calling himself Atlas... perhaps
Foster could use that name again (originally, Foster called himself
"Black Goliath"... and even had a short-lived ongoing series). I'd
love to see him active again... as I would all the Pym-spin-off
characters (especially, Ant-Man II).
Talk to you later.
David
