There are some similiarities. Both are larger-than-life anti-heroic characters with consciences, and both achieve some measure of redemption, but Swearingen is necessarily more central to the story of Deadwood than Omar is to the Wire, with its sprawling urban setting and plot lines ranging from the docks to the ghettos to city hall. Besides Ian McShane stole the show in Deadwood, making every other role revolve around him. Michael Williams isn't allowed to do that in the Wire. --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
