Fidonet BBS_CARNIVAL (BBS Carnival) Echo Rules

This echo is for the discussion and support of BBS software, utilities,
and doors, regardless of hardware and/or software platforms.  Other
general BBS-related chat that is not already specifically covered
by another echo in Fidonet is also welcome.

General guidelines and policies are in place to help facilitate the smooth
flow of conversation in here.  By your participation in this echo, you
agree to abide by the following:

  -- Access to this echo is a privilige, not a right.  Your access may
     be removed at any time, with or without notice.  There will always
     be a reason though.  It is the moderators' sole decision on access.

  -- Any discussion of software cracks, serials or any other method of
     bypassing a program's registration routines (even if the program
     is abandonware) is OFF-TOPIC, no questions asked.

  -- Remember that opinions are just that, opinions, and if you want your
     opinion to be respected, respect other people's opinions.  If you
     feel the need to start an arguement, do it in netmail, not in the echo.

  -- No flaming of any kind is allowed, period.  Grow up.

  -- While mild profanity is tolerated, it should be noted that the moderator
     would hope that the participants in this echo are smarter than having
     to resort to four-letter vulgarities to get their point across.

  -- Please do not overquote.  There is no need to quote twenty (20) lines
     of a message to respond with "I agree!" or something like that.  You
     need to remember that even in this day and age of Fidonet over the
     internet, people still pay for their bandwidth and the extra data
     isn't appreciated.

  -- Please do not "top reply" (put the your reply above the original
     message).  This is a sloppy Internet habit that has spilled over into
     Fidonet.  Not only is this bad manners, but it is also a pet peeve of
     the moderators.

  -- Announcements of new BBS doors and utilities are permitted in this
     echo, however, the announcement may be posted ONCE per version/update.
     No other ads are allowed in this echo.

  -- Please do NOT post "test" messages in here.

  -- No local/regional echomail policies (such as EP1) are recognized in
     this echo except Fidonet Policy 4.

  -- English is the primary language of this echo, however, we do realize that
     there are non-native English speakers in here.  You may speak in your
     native tongue as long as there is an English translation (to the best
     of your availability) available in the same message.

  -- Let the moderators do the moderating.  If you have issues with someone
     else, take them to netmail or email and not in the echo.  If you have
     a problem with the moderators, take it to netmail.  If you do not like
     how the moderators moderate, simply do not participate in the echo.

  -- The moderators will post under their own names for messages.  If there
     is an official moderator message, they will usually, but not always,
     put "Moderator" in the "from" line in the message
header and will use
     specific language in the message to ensure there is no doubt that this
     is a moderator message.

  -- Please do not gate this echo outside of Fidonet by any means without
     written permission of the moderators.

  -- This is a living document and subject to change without notice by the
     moderators.
