Datalight C (the precursor to Zortech and later Symantec C/C++) also fit
on a single 5-1/4" floppy. I still have it around here, but I'm not sure
if the only 5-1/2" drive on my family's network still works.

GNU is still dead, IMHO... GNU aspired to be what Linux achieved. The only
thing of GNU that really lives on are the tools. Still, GPL proved
unpopular enough that those tools are now distributed with libraries which
don't carry the curse of GPL.

Do report back what you find - I'm sure there are many who'd be interested
in hearing about it.
