| subject: | Configuring Multimail |
Hello, I hope someone can help with a silly problem I'm having getting Multimail to use a decent text editor rather than Notepad. In the documentation "mm.txt", we are told to put the name of the editor. I want to use Textpad. I have that installed in F:\Program Files\Textpad 4\ So, I tried putting EDITOR: F:\Program Files\Textpad 4\textpad.exe into mmail.rc and found that nothing was opened and Multimail invited me to cancel the reply. So, after reading the FAQ about using batch files to call a spell checker, I wrote a little batch files F: call F:\Program Files\Textpad 4\textpad.exe of course that didn't work as pseudodos doesn't like spaces in paths so I rewrote it as call F:\Progra~1\Textpa~1\textpad.exe %1 That did indeed open Textpad OK, but instead of opening the file it gave an invalid path error. C:\"F:\pathname\file.ext" not found. Sigh. Can anyone tell me just HOW mmail calls an editor? It works with notepad, if notepad can be said to be working. All the Best Ian ...
