I am not sure why the confusion with an animal, but, depending on the source of 
the myrrh (by the way, you /did/  spell it correctly), it *can* smell rather 
nasty in its natural or processed form or when burned as incense.

that I am, I had 
never heard of it (NOW I do!), but now I am /really/  curious...
