The Dems came out very strongly against it, but so did some Republicans. A
letter went out from Dick Armey urging a no vote.  I have to confess that I
was temporarily uncertain as to how to vote after receiving that, but the
next day I got another one from Tom McClintock (who I voted for in the
election that Schwarzenegger won) urging a yes.  McCain was also on the yes
side.
