I would assume that's always been the case though. I know it is at
Vanderbilt in their music program. It's also probably why going to a
university music program is better in the long run than a conservatory. At
a conservatory, when/if you graduate, all you've got is a heavy music
education, nothing else. At least at a university, you've got other basic
skills you've had to learn.
