For me it is very stressful on the surface. Just as I get into
the water, I have to go through the violent surf zone. Then, I have to
swim real far to the float (beach diving sucks). Afterwards, I have to
listen to those smart - ass jokes of my instructor.
But when my mask hits the water, all the pressure seems to be
relieved. I just like to stay at about 30 feet, crack the sea orchins
with small boulders, and feed them to the Garriboldy (a state -
protected fish here, in California, they are practically everywhere).
Think about your worst enemy. There is almost no way he can get
you 40 feet underwater. That's what is so cool about SCUBA diving for
me. Sometimes, everyone needs a little escape.
