A) Give them time. Already we have whole animals from a single cell
(cloning) & egg-egg fertilization.

B) Viruses do this all the time.

C) Life has managed this to the degree that we are all here. Life does not
require scientists, priests, people, vertebrates etc. You need a source of
energy & a source of atoms.
