Naw-w-w-w! While there is life, there is hope. It's never to late. Who knows? 
With the genome project still going on, they could announce immortality 
tomorrow! They're already announcing cures and markers to more and more 
genetic desieses every day. I can see them announcing age reversal, super 
immune systems, etc..., within the next 5-10 yrs, unless profiteering and 
government security gets in the way.
Anyway, A decent width of a 1 foot hump going around the perimeter would have 
prevented those 3 inches of water and then some! You'd need a pump or three 
to take care of seepage, but it should be managable.
