The lineaum design is to disperse the high frequencies over 360 degrees
ersus
the smaller cone of propagation for cone tweeters. The actual company that
designs these and holds various speaker patents is Aura Systems

Does anyone know of any other products from Aura systems?
I've liked the LX5, but haven't heard any of the new larger Linnies.
Did hear two or three Infinity Overture series at Circuit City, which
someone here was asking about a few weeks back. These speakers have an
integrated bass amplifier module in each speaker, and even on the end
of about 40 feet of speaker wire do well with bass. I liked the new
Emit-R tweeter, also. Not sure about the midrange, but it sounded
pretty impressive too in my limited time there and with only one
recording. The midrange driver is a dome, slightly loaded by an
elliptical shallow horn, and a manufacturer's display card says the
horn controls dispersion for outstanding imaging.
