Aspirin existed long before we had an FDA. WRT MDMA, there are now limited
tests using MDMA as a possible treatment for post-traumatic stress
disorder. And there are reports that MDMA can cause irreversible damage to
serotonin receptor sites-so much so that in some of the studies conducted
they gave SSRI's prophylactically. But even though it may have passed a lot
od countries drug boards, there are a lot of drugs that get yanked off the
market once they go into distribution - and as far as I know, no
pharmaceutical company actively sells MDMA in any country as a prescribed
drug.
