subject: Clipper 26

Hello all
I'm considering purchasing a Clipper 26 she was built in 1974 and is in
what I would call moderate shape ... Looks like all the rigging is in pretty
good shape sail's too. Just the wood work ( What little there is ) needs some
help she has a Merc 9 hp outboard and a tandem axle trailer.. Lots of odds
and ends VHF radio, RDF ,Olin flair kit . sink, stove and frig all in fair
shape sails include Main , Jib and Genoa
I would really like to hear from anyone that owns have owned or knows much
about her ..

Now the bad news its been around 12 years since I've sailed !!!! even
then the largest boat I had sailed was a Hobie 18. When I started looking
at Boats I was more in the market for a small Hobie
or Nacra.. somehow I found myself looking at the larger boats .. The folks
at the boat brokerage say that sailing will come back to me ... Hmmm Like
riding a bike ??? I'm not sure I want it coming back to me or worse yet not
coming back to me on a 26 foot boat Any thoughts on this would be
helpful
Also If things work out and I find I can still sail ... I was hopping to do
some coast sailing in a few years .
Does anyone have any thoughts on the suitability of the Clipper 26 for short
trips up the Calif. Coast ..

Gp
