plastic-bagging of my blood :-)

Well, it depends on the modem and the INF file. The INF file for the USR
Courier sets ATZ as reset - which screws things up if you want to use
the Courier's connection and link diagnostic features. I had to change
the Reset setting to AT&F1. But that's OK because AT&F1 for the Courier
is the default hardware flow control setting that works fine for most
users.
