  I was able to leave the big speeds behind.  I had moved up to 16mb
speeds, but couldn't handle the nonsense that went with it, so
downgraded to the "Up to 5mb" speeds of dsl.

  I download a lot more now, and even though it's slower I don't care
so much, for normal every day surfing things are fast as can be anyway.
