AR> That newsgroup is 'formally' non-denominational ... Word, WP, AR>
AmiPro/WordPro, Wordstar etc are all on topic AFAIK. But Word is indeed AR>
discussed most.
Yes, I realize it is formally non-denominational. But the
percentage of messages about WordPerfect is about the same, I would guess, as
the percentage of messages in the WPWIN-L list that have "Off Topic" in the
subject line -- and substantially smaller than the percentage of messages in
WPWIN-L that are in fact off topic.
AR> And I am _NOT_, repeat *** N O T ***, deserting WP. But at the office AR>
it has been 'decided' to use and support Word exclusively. I am AR>
thoroughly disgusted at that ... But as I am one of the support people AR> I
_have_ to learn Word :-(
And I understand that it is your office's decision rather than
yours. But if you are providing Word support in the office
exclusively, how much time are you going to have for WordPerfect?
AR> Currently I am making a deatiled list of what Word can't do and WP (any
AR> or all versions) can, and vice versa. The current conclusion is that AR>
Word is nearly useless for medium to advanced users: it lacks far too AR>
many things which WP has!
AR> If you -- or anyone else for that matter -- can contribute to that list
AR> I'd appreciate it very much. Objective, testable and tested differences
AR> only please. No opinions and beliefs.
I wish I could help. But (a) I never do anything exotic in
WordPerfect, and (b) I have _never_ used Word -- not even for a
single document, or a single sentence, or a single word, or even a single
character. I know nothing about it.
