A variable resistance I/O?!? Hmmmm... a Joystick port? Shouldn't be TO hard.
I say resistance, because you can set it up so your tested voltage works as a 
resistance. If you can find out the circut's resistance (I don't know what 
you guys are talking about, didn't see beginning of thread) you can calculate 
the current with Ohm's law.

OIC! Hmmm, you'd need some sort of ammeter there. Maybe a coil with a small 
voltage applied and tested so you know what amount of current results in what 
voltage, and you can then use one axis of the joystick for voltage, the other 
for current.
